🍛 Beef Biryani Recipe | Spicy, Aromatic & Perfect for Special Occasions

 


Tender beef, long-grain basmati rice, and rich layers of masala — this Beef Biryani is a feast of spices and textures. Whether it’s Eid, a weekend gathering, or just a craving for something desi and bold, this biryani will steal the spotlight on your table!

 

📝 Ingredients

 

For the Beef:

½ kg beef (with bones for more flavor)

1 cup yogurt

2 tbsp ginger garlic paste

1 tsp red chili powder

½ tsp turmeric

1 tsp salt

1 tsp coriander powder

½ tsp garam masala

1 cup fried onions (birista)

3–4 whole green chilies

¼ cup oil

 

For the Rice:

2 cups basmati rice (soaked 30 mins)

Salt (to taste)

2–3 whole cloves

1 cinnamon stick

2 cardamom pods

Bay leaf

 

For Layering:

Saffron or orange food color (mixed in 2 tbsp milk)

Fried onions

Fresh coriander & mint leaves

1 tbsp ghee or butter



 

👩‍🍳 Instructions

 

1. Cook the Beef

In a pot, add beef, yogurt, ginger garlic paste, spices, and oil.

Mix well and cook on medium heat for 8–10 minutes.

Add fried onions and green chilies, then cook covered on low heat until the beef is tender and oil separates.

(Add a splash of water if needed.)

 

2. Boil the Rice

In a large pot, bring water to a boil.

Add salt and whole spices.

Add soaked rice and boil until 90% done (still a little firm)

Drain and set aside.

 

3. Layer the Biryani

In a heavy-bottom pot, add a layer of beef masala.

Then a layer of rice.

Sprinkle fried onions, chopped herbs, saffron milk, and ghee.

Repeat the layers.

 

4. Dum (Steam Cook)

Cover the pot tightly with foil or a cloth under the lid.

Cook on low heat for 20–25 minutes.

Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving
